Apartments Island Pag
The world famous Zrće Beach located in Novalja is on the island of Pag. Known as the new Ibiza with super clubs like Papaya, Aquarius and Noa, clubbers travel from across the globe to party with the world's best DJ's playing all summer long on the stunning Zrće Beach.
Pag Island is different to the other inhabited islands in Croatia. The landscape is moon-like, rocky and barren due to the force of the Bura, a northeasterly wind, which batters the island through the colder months of the year. This point of difference is what makes Pag uniquely appealing.
Excellent Pag cheese
For foodies, Croatia's best cheese comes from Pag. Known as Paški Sir, it's a sheep's milk cheese. Pag sheep graze on the limited wild herbs and grasses on the island giving the cheese its unique flavour. To sample the cheese, take a trip to the Gligora Dairy in Kolan. Wine aficionados should also visit Boškinac Winery and do a little wine tasting. Be sure to try the Gegić, which is a white grape variety unique to Pag.
A day of peace can be had in the Olive Gardens of Lun. There are over 24-hectares of trees, here you can commune with the ancients, with the oldest tree being over 1600 years old.
Beaches on island Pag
As far as beaches go, Pag has far too many to count. Prosika, Simuni, Bašaca, and, of course, Zrče are ones not-to-be-missed. Explore further afield with day trips to Zadar, Rab or Rijeka.
