Apartments Island Rab - Lopar
Beaches, beaches and more beaches! Croatia has lots of beaches but for the most part they are pebbly or rocky. Lopar, located on the island of Rab, has Croatia's largest sandy beach. The stunning Paradise Beach is 1.5km long has blue flag status and has all the facilities you need for a day at the beach. The best part is its sand as far as you can see.
In fact, Lopar has a total of 22 sandy beaches all of which are outstanding and showcase the beauty of the Adriatic Sea. The best beaches to visit are Paradise, Livačina, Sahara, Stolac, and Ciganka. Apart from these, there is an abundance of other small hidden sandy beaches which are easily accessible, but you'll need to do a little exploring to find them.
There is a myriad of activities available for active holiday enthusiasts who can try their hand at jet skiing, para-sailing, cycling, trekking, beach volleyball, snorkelling and diving.
If you want to take a day trip, jump on one of the local taxi boats and head for Goli Otok, the Croatian Alcatraz. This former Croatian prison was one of the most notorious following the second world war and operated from 1948-1988. Alternatively, you can visit Baška on the island of Krk which is also only a short taxi boat ride away.
