Lovran is a town and municipality in Primorsko-goranska county, on the eastern coast of Istria, on the Opatija Riviera. Located on the west coast of the Kvarner bay, in the foothills of the southern slopes of the hill Gorica (712 m), which belongs to the mountain Učka. It is 6 km from Opatija and 18 km from Rijeka. The resort Lovran was named after the laurel (Laurus nobilis), which can be found in abundance in the spot and surrounding area.
