Island Ciovo is located in central Dalmatia, is connected with Trogir by bridge, and administratively divided between Split, Trogir and Okrug. On a total area of 28.8 km2 of the island there are several villages: Okrug Donji, Okrug Gornji, Arbanija, Slatina, Thirsty, Ciovo.
From the mainland to the east (Cape Marjan) Ciovo is about 2 km away, in the northwest to the mainland by a bascule bridge (in Trogir). Already settled in prehistoric times and ancient Romans called it Boa (Bua, Bavo). During the XV. and XVI century on it removes the local population fleeing from the Turks.
